Bayern president makes Ryan Gravenberch claim amid Liverpool interest

Bayern Munich’s president has promised to Ryan Gravenberch that he will play more next season if he stays at the club this summer, with Liverpool interested in the midfielder.

Speaking to Bild, Herbert Hainer claimed that the 21-year-old will get more chances under Thomas Tuchel after a campaign to forget last term, with Gravenberch spending the majority of the season on the substitutes bench as Bayern clinched the Bundesliga title.

As per the report, Liverpool are keen on Gravenberch having missed out on the midfielder last year, and there’s a growing chance that the former Ajax man will leave Bavaria this summer if he believes that he will spend another season as a squad player.

However, Bayern seem confident that Gravenberch will play more for the club next term, and for Liverpool, the German giants issuing this promise so early in the window could lead to the midfielder actually staying with the Bundesliga side.

Hainer said on Gravenberch leaving Bayern and his future at the club: “In my opinion, he is an incredibly talented player. That’s why we brought him. He got more playing time towards the end of the season. I’m sure he’ll get more playing time in the future.”

Gravenberch’s first year at Bayern could not have gone any worse had the player tried, and for Liverpool, they have to work now on convincing the midfielder to leave this summer with Anfield the more ideal environment for the Dutch talent.

As we know, Bayern are unlikely to give Gravenberch time to feature in the starting XI with the pressure already mounting on Tuchel to impress next season. And for Liverpool, they know they are in a powerful position to lure the 21-year-old to the Premier League if they can start now.
