Brentford reach agreement with Seongnam FC to sign Kim Ji-soo – Football Today

Brentford have reached an agreement with South Korean club Seongnam FC to sign Kim Ji-soo, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Personal terms have also been agreed and a deal will be signed next week.
Ji-soo is one of the brightest prospects to have emerged from South Korea. The 18-year-old made his senior debut last year, becoming the youngest player ever to appear in a K League 1 game.
His performances sparked interest from Premier League club Brentford who are now on the verge of signing him.
Thomas Frank’s side enjoyed an impressive 2022-23 season as they finished ninth in the standings with 59 points.
Considering the Bees don’t boast a huge transfer budget, this was a remarkable achievement.
Brentford will now be looking to finish even higher up the table next season.
They have made a good start to the summer transfer window as they are close to adding Ji-soo to their ranks.
He is only 18 and so there is plenty of scope for improvement in his game.
The South Korean will likely be sent on loan next season as he doesn’t look ready for first-team action yet.
However, opportunities could open up for him at the Gtech Community Stadium if he proves his skills during the loan stint.
