Cristiano Ronaldo Created Another Guinness World Record – Sportsmanor

Cristiano Ronaldo became the first male to play 200 times for his country, so Guinness World Records gave him a medal. On June 20, 2023, he made the day special by scoring the game-winning goal in the 89th minute of Portugal’s 1-0 win over Iceland in qualifying for the European Championships.
Before the game started, Guinness World Records praised Cristiano Ronaldo for playing his 200th game for Portugal, almost 20 years after his first game.
The age of Ronaldo is 38. He was happy because he scored when he was close to the goal. This was Portugal’s fourth win out of four in Group J, which puts them on track to make it to Euro 2024.
When he got the award, Ronaldo said, “Triumph with a special flavor. Not only for the day it was, for the tribute, for the 200th game… To top it off with a goal, I can’t ask for more. It was spectacular, and unforgettable, for everything it generated around the game. I have to thank the Icelanders, to the federation for the surprise. And to Guinness World Records.”
Will Portugal be able to win the UEFA Euro?
Cristiano Ronaldo has already stopped thinking about the FIFA World Cup 2022. Ronaldo is back to being one of Portugal’s best players. On March 24, 2023, he scored twice as his team beat Liechtenstein 4-0 to qualify for the European Championship 2024. This made him the person who had played the most for his country. In this game, Coach Roberto Martnez oversaw Portugal for the first time.
At the José Alvalade Stadium, Portugal took the lead right away. In the eighth minute, Joao Cancelo scored the first goal. He also helped Bernardo Silva score from close range in the 47th minute and set up Ronaldo’s goal from the penalty spot. The crowd cheered in the 78th minute when Goncalo Ramos took over for Ronaldo.
Portugal has never lost to Liechtenstein in eight games, with seven wins and one tie. The country has won the last five Euro qualifiers it has played against Liechtenstein. Portugal scored 32 goals in those five games and didn’t let Liechtenstein score one.
He also recently became the first player to play 200 games for his national team when he played against Iceland. He marked the occasion with a winning goal. He was also honored by Guinness World Records for his achievement.
Iceland, Portugal, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Luxembourg are all in the same qualifying group. The finals will be held in Germany, and the top two teams from each of the ten groups will go there. Portugal is off to a good start in the Euro 2024, and they will win. Now that Cristiano Ronaldo has found his form again and is still doing great things at age 38, we can expect a lot from Portugal this year.
