Everton eye ambitious move for Arsenal, Man City target with double Leeds raid on the cards

Everton are reportedly in ‘ongoing talks’ with Leeds United as they look to lure attacking duo Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto away from Elland Road.

Sean Dyche is expected to make several signings as he looks to avoid a third consecutive relegation battle at Goodison Park.

Gnonto and Harrison would definitely be two big signings for Everton. So, it will be interesting to see if they make a concrete offer the players in the next few weeks.

On the final day of the 2022/23 campaign, it was between Everton, Leicester and Leeds as to who would avoid the drop, and the Toffees ultimately survived by the skin of their teeth.

Now, Dyche wants to ensure that Everton aren’t in that situation again and is focusing on improving his attacking options this summer.

For instance, they have already ‘made contact’ with two strikers: Moussa Dembele and Viktor Gyokeres.

But, Dyche is now reportedly looking at bringing in a new winger, too.

This is according to Football Transfers, who claim that Everton are ‘in talks’ with Leeds over a potential move for Jack Harrison and Wilfried Gnonto.

Harrison, who has previously caught the attention of Newcastle, is believed to have a release clause of £16m in his contract.

Football Transfers note that the 26-year-old would be ‘open’ to joining Everton as his family lives in the northwest.

In 2022/23, Harrison made 36 Premier League appearances. In the process, he scored five goals and made seven assists.

However, Everton are also reportedly considering a move for Gnonto, too.

The 19-year-old quickly became a fan-favourite at Elland Road after making the switch from FC Zurich last summer.

Overall, he has scored four goals and made four assists in 28 appearances for Leeds so far.

Ideally, Leeds would like to keep him for at least another season. But, they could be forced to sell him to fund a squad rebuild for the Championship.

As reported by Football365, Arsenal and Manchester City have previously registered an interest in Gnonto, as have Juventus.

However, an offer from any of the three clubs is yet to materialise. As a result, this could potentially open the door for Everton to swoop in for Gnonto’s signature.

It isn’t clear how much Leeds would want for Gnonto. Although, it’s likely to be more than the £16m required to sign Harrison.

But, this is certainly a story for Evertonians to keep an eye on, as Dyche prepares for his first full season at Goodison Park.
