Ex-Manchester United keeper Ron-Robert Zieler is in line for a shock move to one of their biggest rivals.
The 34-year-old is expected to sign for Merseyside giants Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
If a report from Bild is accurate, then Zieler could be set for a return to the Premier League after leaving many seasons ago.
The Reds are hoping to sign a backup shot stopper in the summer to play deputy to Alisson Becker.
Youngster Caoimhin Kelleher is playing that role at present, but he is unhappy at his lack of playing time.
Zieler would likely sign for the club without any ambitions of being their no.1 or getting significant playing time in the cup competitions. He is currently tied to Hannover.
