Juventus tried to sign £180k-a-week Liverpool player last year, now they want him again

Juventus attempted to sign Roberto Firmino from Liverpool last summer, and are now set to try again.
Firmino – who is still a Liverpool player until June 30th – is still yet to decide his next move. But according to Calciomercato, it could well be to Italy.
They claim that having been ‘really close’ to joining Juventus a year ago, Firmino is still of interest to the Old Lady.
Back then, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly ‘blew up’ the chance of Bobby moving to Turin. But it’s claimed that they haven’t forgotten him. Manager Max Allegri is claimed to have given his approval to Firmino as a new Juve signing.
The competition for the 31-year-old is set to be ‘great’ and ‘rich.’ But, nevertheless, an attempt to woo Bobby is reportedly underway.
Without Klopp to deal with this time, they may just get their man.
Firmino yet to decide next move
Of the four players Liverpool released at the end of the season, Firmino retains the most intrigue for Reds supporters. It really is interesting to see where the Brazilian will choose as his next club.
Moves have already been arranged for Naby Keita and James Milner. Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been strongly linked with joining Aston Villa.
But for Bobby, the future remains a bit of a mystery. As Calciomercato allude to, there are bound to be numerous top sides in for him.
He showed last season that he’s still more than capable of playing at the highest level. Without the ego of other such superstar names, you can’t imagine Firmino asking for too much more than his reported £180k-a-week at Liverpool, either [Spotrac].
As a result, it’s no surprise to see the likes of Real Madrid being linked with a move. The No.9 shirt is free at the Santiago Bernabeu and it would be great to see Firmino take it.
Juventus would be another good option for Bobby. But, like the Reds, they won’t be playing Champions League football next season. With his career starting to wind down, perhaps that will be something Firmino places importance on.
Wherever he ends up though, they’ll be lucky to have him. Miss you already, Bobby!
