Liverpool dramatically change stance in signing ‘sensational’ 28-year-old

Liverpool have reportedly cooled their interest in signing Adrien Rabiot, a decision that could be viewed as a dramatic change in stance for the Juventus midfielder.
90min claim that the Reds, as well as Newcastle United and Tottenham, have all backed away from the French international in recent weeks as Rabiot continues to decide on his future, with the 28-year-old set to become a free agent at the end of this month.
As per the report, Juventus are still trying to persuade Rabiot to stay on in Turin after his best season yet with the Serie A giants, and Liverpool cooling their interest in the midfielder could be massive in the Italian side tying the former PSG man to a new contract.
However, Manchester United remain interested in Rabiot, and with Liverpool now potentially out of the picture, Erik Ten Hag’s side could soon have a free shot at signing the French superstar, who could be an outstanding summer addition for the Red Devils.
Indeed, Liverpool have been linked with Rabiot for what feels like forever. And with the Reds now backing away from a potential deal for the midfielder, it’s shaping up to be a shoot-out between Juventus and United for the 28-year-old’s signature this summer.
Liverpool are making the right choice backing away from Rabiot
Praised by pundits as being ‘sensational’ during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Rabiot has hit new heights in the last 12 months after previously looking like a lost cause at Juventus. Yet despite the French international finding form, Liverpool are making the right move in walking away from a deal.
As we know, Jurgen Klopp’s side are in the market for a young midfielder who has the potential to be at the club for many years. And although Rabiot would be an excellent short-term signing, the Juventus man could be a poor fit for what the Anfield side are trying to achieve this summer.
