Liverpool or Chelsea? The latest on Celta Vigo talent Gabri Veiga

A fresh insight into the future of in-demand Celta Vigo starlet Gabri Veiga has been provided on Sunday evening.
For those not aware, the name of youngster Veiga took its place front and centre in the Spanish football chatter across the 2022/23 term.
This came with the 21-year-old having enjoyed a breakout campaign.
All told, across Celta’s 38 La Liga outings, Veiga was afforded appearances in all but two.
Not only that, but, from his berth in the middle of the park, the Spanish youth international racked up a head-turning haul of 11 goals and four assists.
With such stellar production, though, comes inevitable outside interest.
For several months now, rumours have been in circulation in the Spanish media that Veiga has piqued the attentions of the powers that be at reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid.
More recent speculation, however, has pointed towards a potential move to the Premier League.
Chelsea, for one, have been hotly tipped as a potential landing spot, the big-spending Blues desperate to replenish their ailing engine room ranks.
And, if the latest word doing the rounds on Sunday evening is anything to go by, then Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, too, are keeping a close eye on Veiga’s situation.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the board at Anfield ‘remain well informed’ on the situation of the Celta star’ albeit with their current focus on bringing in a more ‘physical’ profile in midfield.
Chelsea, meanwhile, made contact with their counterparts at the Balaidos earlier this week, to get an understanding of the ‘clause conditions’ in Veiga’s contract.
The race for one of Europe’s finest up-and-coming talents, in turn, remains very much open.
