Liverpool told to pay £90m if they want to sign Premier League player

Fulham have reportedly increased Joao Palhinha’s asking price to an astonishing £90m, with Liverpool interested in signing the midfielder.
According to the Daily Mail, the west London side have set the 27-year-old valuation at a quite incredible £90m amid interest from the likes of West Ham, who are eyeing Palhinha as a potential replacement for Declan Rice, who could leave for as much as £100m.
As per the report, Fulham are using West Ham’s valuation of Rice as a benchmark for Palhinha, who only joined the Cottagers last summer. However, the former Sporting Lisbon star shone for Marco Silva’s side and was one of the best midfielders in the Premier League in his first season in England.
To the surprise of nobody, Palhinha is now a man in demand, and Liverpool are one such club who are chasing the Portuguese star, though Fulham’s asking price could now put off suitors given how ridiculous the figures on show are for the midfielder.
Lauded as ‘fantastic’ by Gary Neville, no club will be willing to pay as much as £90m for Palhinha. And for Liverpool, ending their interest now in the Fulham star could save everyone a lot of time and energy given how unlikely a deal now is for the Reds.
Palhinha’s asking price is bonkers beyond compare
Fulham were always going to go high on their asking price for Palhinha, yet £90m is nothing short of ridiculous from the west London side. And it won’t be a surprise now if every club chasing in the 27-year-old, including Liverpool, drops their interest this summer.
As we know, £90m is a fee that should land you one of the best players in the world. And although Palhinha flourished in the Premier League last year, the Portuguese international simply does not fit in this category.
