Malik Tillman £5m Rangers transfer offer ‘rejected’ by Bayern Munich

Malik Tillman £5m Rangers transfer offer ‘rejected’ by Bayern Munich

The American attacking midfielder spent the season on loan at Ibrox last season and was a hit with Michael Beale and the Gers support.

As part of the loan agreement for Tillman, Rangers were given first chance to buy him at the end of the season.

However, German site Kicker now reports that Rangers will have to “dig deeper into their pockets” if they want to land Tillman with their initial fee knocked back.

The report goes on to state that Bayern are still willing to sell or send their player out on another loan, so it remains to be seen whether Rangers can get their man.

The 21-year-old bagged 12 goals in 43 appearances last season and was open to remaining in Glasgow next season when he was quizzed on a possible transfer.

He said at the end of the season: “I’ve spoken to Michael Beale already and he said, ‘Just take your time. It’s your decision’. That’s what I’m going to do,” said the midfielder.

“The option is until the beginning of June or something so I still have three or four weeks to decide. I’m going to take my time because obviously it’s a big decision for me.

“It is still open. I am going to talk to Michael Beale in the coming days and see what he is saying and what the club is saying. Then I am going to speak to Bayern again and see what their plan is for me. And then I am going to decide.”

Michael Beale added: “I have spoken to Malik. The conversation between the two clubs is still ongoing.

“I think there is a called planned for after the weekend between the two [clubs].

“But it was nice to see Malik at the weekend obviously winning another award for fine contributions made this season.”
