‘Manchester United only option’: Newcastle told ‘sensational’ ace joining a ‘sideways step’

Peter Crouch says Harry Kane joining Newcastle United from Tottenham Hotspur would be a ‘sideways move’, as he backed a transfer to Manchester United.
The former Premier League striker thinks Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United is the ‘only real option’ in the Premier League for the 29-year-old.
And whilst Crouch acknowledged that Newcastle United are moving in the ‘right direction’, while Tottenham aren’t, he still doesn’t think Harry Kane going to St James Park would be a forward step, as he told talkSPORT (22/06/23 at 8:40 am).
Eddie Howe’s side are in the Champions League for next season and they have a project that is cooking like a five-course Michelin star meal.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are being closed down and told they can’t serve their customers, as the London club enters a crossroads.
From that perspective, moving to Newcastle would be a step forward for Kane, but not for Crouch.

“Manchester United is the only real option for Kane,” said Crouch. “Newcastle is a bit, I would class it as a sideways move.
“I know they are moving in the right direction and we aren’t sure where Tottenham are.”

Will Kane run down his contract?
The England captain isn’t a confrontational character and given that he is dealing with Daniel Levy, then he probably needs that.
A number of seasons ago, he didn’t get that transfer to Manchester City. He took his pill and moved on when it didn’t happen.
If the ‘sensational’ striker opts against signing a new deal, then these next few months at Hotspur Way could become interesting.
