Manchester United target to snub Red Devils in favour of Bayern Munich move
Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo-Muani is ready to snub Manchester United to complete a move to Bayern Munich this summer, it has been reported.
The striker arrived in Germany on a free transfer last summer, and has wasted no time enhancing his reputation with an excellent debut Bundesliga season.
Still only 24-years-old, the Frenchman has scored 14 goals and provided another 12 assists in 30 Bundesliga outings as Frankfurt look to be outside shouts for European football next season.
His form has not gone unnoticed, and he was taken to the World Cup by Didier Deschamps as a late replacement in the French squad, coming on for the final as they lost on penalties to Argentina.
And interest from both Manchester United and Bayern Munich prompted the German side to slap a hefty 100m euro price tag on Kolo-Muani’s head this summer.
The striker is among the list of Erik ten Hag’s fallback options to improve the striker position at Old Trafford should they be unable to land Harry Kane this summer, with the Tottenham man still under contract until 2024.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Kolo-Muani is ‘expected to leave his employers this summer despite still having four years still left on his current deal’, but it will not be for Manchester United.
German outlet Sport1 claim that the Frenchman will turn down a move to England in favour of a Bayern Munich switch, with the Bavarian giants keen on adding a new striker and Victor Osimhen already ruled out as an option.
They add that Bayern were initially ‘skeptical as to whether Kolo Muani’s style of play actually matched that of the German record champions’, but that ‘this view has changed after several analyzes and observations.’
It means that Manchester United may be forced to look elsewhere should they not land Harry Kane this summer.
