Mane – Neymar and Silva feature in Chelsea news now
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –
CHELSEA have reportedly decided that they will make a £60 million offer to try and sign Brazilian star Neymar in the summer window.
Mauricio Pochettino is a man that will be heading to the club over the next few weeks after agreeing to take over from caretaker boss Frank Lampard – who will depart the club.
Neymare has been a player that has been heavily linked with a stunning move to Stamford Bridge – with reports suggesting that he is a player that Pochettino would like to add to his side.
PSG attempted to sell Neymar last summer but were unable to find a buyer for the Brazil international, who also wanted to stay at the French club.
However, ESPN reports that Neymar has changed his stance ahead of the summer window and is now keen on a move away from PSG.
It’s understood that Neymar’s preference would be to join a club in the Premier League and would not play for another team in La Liga due to his time at Barcelona.
Now, According to El Nacional, Chelsea are looking to offer a fee of £60m for the arrival of PSG winger Neymar next season.
Neymar is still one of the biggest players in the game and his name will bring in alot of revenue.
But anyone hoping that he will come in and set the Premier League alight – will bang in lots of goals and entertain the fans can think again – he is not that type of player anymore.
It would still be a massive signing for CHELSEA to make – but he is not the answer to all the problems that Chelse are having on the pitch – and he certainly will not help things off it too.
THIAGO SILVA WANTS TO STAY –
Thiago Silva has revealed that he has no intention of leaving CHELSEA during the January transfer window.
The veteran Brazilian only signed a one-year contract extension in February but his wife has admitted he has struggled mentally recently given the club’s poor run of form.
The Blues are well down the pecking order in the Premier League as they currently sit 11th – well off the pace of leaders Manchester City and Arsenal. And they are also out of all the cup competitions.
Now – According to Globo Esporte, the defender is now regretting his decision to sign a one-year contract extension with Chelsea three months ago.
The Brazilian news outlet has said that Silva would scrap his Chelsea deal at the end of the 2022-23 campaign and return to his boyhood club.
Fluminense recently confirmed that they would love to see the Brazilian make a move back to the club.
However – the Brazilian star has now opened up and revealed that he has no intention of leaving the Premier League giants.
“There’s nothing between me and Fluminense now. I’ve extended my contract because I want to stay at Chelsea”, told ESPN.
‘I even told my wife that I know nothing of these rumours of a meeting with the Fluminense board… I always respected my contracts”.
Look, Thiago Silva is a born winner that is not happy with what is happening at CHELSEA so it is easy to see why there are so many rumours about his future at the club.
He has now come out and said that he wants to stay – so that should really be the end of it.
MANE BOOST –
CHELSEA target Sadio Mane does not have long-term future at Bayern Munich and are not expected to stay beyond this summer, according to Sky Germany.
Despite the fact that Chelsea are still looking for a new manager to hire – that has not stopped the speculation that Ted Boehly is still eager to sign a few more players in the transfer window.
And it is no secret that the Blues are worried about the striker situation, with the current forwards having real issues scoring goals on a weekly basis for the Blues.
And that has led to reports in the media that a new striker is on the agenda for Pochettino – and it seems that Sadio Mane is now a player that the Argentine would like to have at the club.
According to recent reports – Manager-elect Mauricio Pochettino is very keen to bring the Senegal international to Stamford Bridge.
Now Sky Germany claim that Mane is likely to be made available for transfer in the summer after just one season with Bayern, in which he has so far scored 12 goals.
Amid all the speculation – Pundit Frank McVennie recently opened up and backed Mane to make a move to Chelsea in the summer
When asked if Mane would be willing to one of Liverpool’s Premier League rivals, McAvennie told Football Insider “I do not think players bother about that.
“I know people will say it is not about the money with Mane but it is because he gives a lot of it away.
“I do not think there is that allegiance anymore. Me, I could not do it.
“Mane from Liverpool to CHELSEA, it is not really as big a problem nowadays.
“I would love to see him back at Liverpool because they have missed him. He would do a great job at Chelsea.“
