PL club now in advanced talks with Wolves to sign Nathan Collins

Brentford are reportedly in advanced talks with Wolves over the transfer of Nathan Collins.

Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has reported this evening that the Bees are expected to make a new bid for the central defender.

Collins was this morning reported to be the player most likely to leave after next after Ruben Neves.

Neves’ move to Al Hilal has not yet been officially announced, but it is thought to be done.

Collins had an indifferent first season at Molineux.

He started well, but then lost form and after January he didn’t play all that much due to the arrival of Craig Dawson.

Wolves are looking to make a few player sales this summer.

Wanderers would consider offloading Collins if the right offer came in.

Brentford in advanced talks over Nathan Collins – Wolves want £25 million

According to Thomas, Wolves and Brentford are now locked in advanced negotiations.

The Bees really want to bolster their defensive options for next season. They see Collins as potentially a great addition and someone within their budget.

Brentford have apparently already failed with a £21 million bid. Thomas says that Wanderers are looking for £25 million to sell Collins.

That would give Wolves a small profit on the player of about £5 million.

There has not yet been any word regarding Collins’ stance on a move away from Molineux after just one year.

Wolves selling Nathan Collins to Brentford would be absolutely ridiculous

Wolves’ situation with FFP must be pretty dire for the club to be willing to offload Collins for £25 million. Especially with Neves joining Al Hilal for £47 million.

He’s only been at the club for a year and has a long contract.

Surely, Wolves should be squeezing more out of Brentford, for a player who has the potential to become a top Premier League centre-half.

Journalist Liam Keen said in an Express & Star podcast recently that big clubs still liked Collins, despite his up-and-down first term at Molineux.

In an ideal world Collins will not be going anywhere. But if it’s something that must be done, then hopefully some of those big clubs will come calling and rival Brentford for the player.

Surely, Collins could fetch closer to £30 million if that was the case.
