Regan Graver on Richmond victory

Brentford Women’s first team defender Regan Graver says the side will only be focusing on themselves as they go into the final two games of the season as they currently sit two points clear at the top of the league table.
The Bees, who beat Richmond Park 1-0 on the road on Sunday afternoon, have the lead at the top but Dorking Wanderers are behind them with one game in hand, so it looks set to be an exciting finish to the season.
After grabbing the game’s only goal, she says the side are only concentrating on ensuring they take maximum points from the remaining fixtures.
She explained: “At the moment we can’t focus on what they (Dorking) do, and we can’t control what they do. I think it’s about playing our game and getting the wins each week is our aim and focus. If they slip up then hopefully we can make full use of that by winning our games.
“You can always regret results in games but at the end of the day you can’t change it after. All you can do is look forward to each game, make sure you perform, and get the win.”
Regan was speaking after grabbing the winner for the Bees on 75 minutes in a positive performance where they perhaps should have scored more goals having created a host of chances.
On the win over Richmond, Graver said: “I thought it was a big battle. Richmond played their socks off and put us under a lot of pressure. We’re happy we won, happy to get the three points and add to our winning ways.
“We had to keep our heads, keep calm, and we knew a goal would come at some point because we had the chances.”

The central defender was part of a side who gave very little away defensively as they kept an important clean sheet. The defender says the back four have a solid understanding which showed in the win.
She continued: “We’re always a solid back four and we like to perform together. To keep a clean sheet as a back four. To do that and get the win is always good. I think to keep winning is a great boost for our confidence. We’re really enjoying it at the moment and we’ll take each game as it is.”
