Report: Chelsea now expected to prioritise move to sign ‘spectacular’ £70m player, Antonio Conte rates him

Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez is now emerging as a player Chelsea will prioritise a move to sign this summer, according to reports.
Lautaro Martinez, who’s 25, is a talented centre-forward enjoying a fantastic season.
The Daily Mail claims that Martinez is the most likely centre-forward target for Chelsea in the upcoming transfer window.
It is explained that the Blues do admire Napoli’s frontman Victor Osimhen, but a move for Inter’s attacker is deemed more realistic.
The same report says that Mauricio Pochettino will become the next Chelsea manager, and he’s already discussing recruitment with the club.

Martinez is in great form right now for Serie A giants Inter, who are competing in the Champions League semi-finals.
The South American striker has 24 goals and 10 assists in 51 games across all competitions so far this season.
He’s very effective as part of a two-man attack, whether that’s partnering Edin Dzeko or Blues loanee Romelu Lukaku.
InterLive claimed last month that the Italian club would demand at least €80million (£70million) in the summer to sell Martinez, whose current deal doesn’t expire until 2026.

Martinez is a very well respected player in the footballing world, receiving big praise from the likes of Lionel Messi and Antonio Conte in the past.
Football legend Messi previously described Martinez, who he plays alongside in Argentina’s national team, as “spectacular”.
As for former Chelsea boss Conte, he previously coached Martinez at the San Siro. The Italian manager raved about the Inter striker’s development and quality a couple of years ago.
Martinez is definitely on an upwards trajectory in the past 12 months, which has included him becoming a World Cup winner.
We have question marks around his finishing and whether he’s a natural goalscorer, but he does look the complete package when searching for an attacker.
