Report: It’ll be a miracle if 24-year-old stays at Chelsea, his agents aren’t happy with the club at all

Reports have claimed that it remains extremely unlikely that Mason Mount stays at Chelsea beyond this summer.

According to The Sun, the 24-year-old’s agents are very unhappy with the club following recent efforts made to get him to agree to a new contract.

It seemed unfathomable just 12 months ago that there was any future where Mount was not one of the centrepieces of Chelsea.

However, fast forward to now, he has endured his worst season since breaking through at Stamford Bridge, which has coincided with a dire campaign for the Blues all around.

They currently sit in the bottom half of the table, whilst also comfortably out of every cup competition they entered this season.

Mount extremely unlikely to stay

The England international has just three goals and two assists this season, after hitting double digits for both in the league last season.

Now though, he is reportedly still way off signing any form of contract extension to his deal which is set to expire in 12 months’ time.

Reports now claim that it would be nothing short of a miracle if Mount was to continue his story at Stamford Bridge.

The one hope the club may have is that the imminent arrival of Mauricio Pochettino could have an effect on his thinking.

It has frequently been claimed that the Argentine is a massive fan of the 24-year-old, and he certainly fits the quota for the energetic kind of player he desires.

It may be too little too late though, with Todd Boehly’s desire to have no player enter the last year of their contract due to the risk of them leaving the club for free, as happened with Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the American’s first window at the club.
