Report: Tottenham believe they have edge over Arsenal for ‘exciting’ English player

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur reportedly believe that they could be able to sign Marc Guehi ahead of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
According to journalist Dean Jones in GiveMeSport, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.
The reporter has claimed that although Arsenal admire the defender, Tottenham “believe they could have the edge on them in terms of being able to offer regular first-team football”.
Described as “an exciting talent” by Palace chairman Steve Parish on the club’s official website in July 2021, Guehi is aiming to play regular first-team football next season so that he can feature for England at Euro 2024 finals next summer.

Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur for Marc Guehi?
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur are more likely than Arsenal to sign Marc Guehi from London and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal do have a very settled and strong central defensive department.
So, it is hard to see the Gunners spend a lot of money to bring in a 22-year-old centre-back who will surely want to play regularly.
After all, the England international defender scored one goal in 37 appearances in the Premier League for Palace last season.
Tottenham could do with one or two good defenders for next season and beyond.
Spurs were defensively poor last season, and Postecoglou could fancy making Guehi, who has played three times for England, a regular in his backline.
