Spurs want Director of Football who found 20-goal Premier League striker for £5m

Tottenham are now keen to hire Lee Dykes as their new Director of Football after Fabio Paratici left north London.
It was Fabrizio Romano who claimed that Spurs are looking at the Brentford man as a replacement for the Italian, who departed after FIFA upheld his 30-month ban for false accounting.
If Tottenham do manage to bring Dykes to N17, there are many reasons for supporters to be excited.
What’s the story?
Well, this would be a smart move by Daniel Levy.
Dykes has built a very strong reputation for himself at Brentford since arriving in 2019, helping the Bees become a top-half Premier League side thanks to some impressive recruitment.
It was the 39-year-old who signed Ivan Toney from Peterborough for just £5m.
The 27-year-old has since become one of the best strikers in Europe, scoring 20 goals in 33 Premier League appearances this season while also earning a call-up to the England squad.
Romano believes Dykes is high on Tottenham’s shortlist of options to replace Paratici, and it will take a significant offer to lure him away from Brentford, as the Bees consider him a top operator in his role.
Who Tottenham could hire instead of Lee Dykes
If Spurs fail to hire Dykes, Romano named another exciting option who could arrive.
The reliable Italian journalist mentions that Tim Steidten – Director of Football at Bayer Leverkusen – could join Tottenham.

During his time at the German side so far, the 44-year-old made the clever decision to hire Xabi Alonso, who has guided Bayer Leverkusen to seventh in the Bundesliga. They were 17th when he arrived in October.
Steidten also played a key role in the signings of Piero Hincapié, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Edmond Tapsoba and Moussa Diaby, all of whom are among the top talents in Europe, and have helped Bayer Leverkusen to the UEFA Europa League Semi-Final this season.
Be sure to keep an eye on Tottenham, as a new Sporting Director is expected to arrive soon.
