Ten Hag learns Champions League destroyer Man Utd want could move to the Premier League as agent lifts lid on future
Erik ten Hag has discovered one of the best players in Spain will be moving to the Premier League once he decides to leave Real Madrid, with Manchester United among his potential next destinations.
Real are busy preparing for their Champions League semi-final second leg against Manchester City. The tie is delicately poised at 1-1 following an enthralling first leg in the Spanish capital.
Real forward Vinicius Junior fired Carlo Ancelotti’s side in front in the first half with a stunning strike that gave City goalkeeper Ederson no chance.
However, Kevin de Bruyne dragged City level after the half-time break with a great strike of his own to beat Thibaut Courtois.
City will feel they have the advantage thanks to the second leg being staged at the Etihad. Pep Guardiola’s side can also rely on deadly striker Erling Haaland, who will be hoping to escape the clutches of Antonio Rudiger this time around.
But Real can never be ruled out, especially in the Champions League. They have incredible players such as Vinicius, Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde in their squad.

Modric is the only player from that list who has played in the Premier League before, having represented Tottenham between 2008 and 2012. But that could change as Man Utd have been linked with sensational attacker Vinicius on a few occasions.
In November, reports emerging from Spain claimed Ten Hag had made contact with Vinicius and tried to convince him on a move to the Prem.

And the Brazilian’s agent, Frederico Pena, has now provided an intriguing update on his future.
During an interview with The Telegraph, Pena has insisted Vinicius is ‘so happy’ with Los Blancos.
However, Pena then revealed how Vinicius will be heading to the Prem if he opts to leave Real, with Man Utd likely to be at the front of the queue to try and sign him.
“I can’t really see that [a Real exit] happening right now, but who knows, these things change in football and there’s things you would never imagine seeing that happen,” the representative said.
“I would just say if he were to leave Real Madrid some day, it would make no sense for it to be somewhere other than the Premier League.
“But will he one day leave Real Madrid or will he be a one-club kind of player? I would tell you right now there’s a big chance that he’s the kind of player who stays in one club and makes history there and stays there for 15-plus years.”
Clearly, it will take a some major struggles on Real’s part for the 22-year-old to leave them. But as Pena points out, stranger things have happened in the world of football.
For example, if Real get their next managerial appointment wrong, then they may struggle to keep up with Xavi’s Barcelona, who recently won the La Liga title.
Real failing to win a trophy for a few seasons is the kind of awful event that would force Vinicius into finding a new club, potentially Man Utd.
Meanwhile, a former Man Utd player has told Ten Hag to avoid signing a £100m-plus star who might flop and instead land a Prem-based alternative.
