Premier League is one of the most popular football leagues in the world for its physicality and high-octane action. The contesting teams in the league have immense financial might and do not shy away from using a barrage of players in order to achieve their target.
The 2022-23 season of the Premier League has been gruelling, edgy and one without a lot of margin for error. Premier League clubs such as Nottingham Forest and Chelsea among others were extremely active in the transfer market, buying and using a lot of different players. There were also a few clubs that had to resort to using plenty of players due to terrible luck with injuries and suspensions.
As the Premier League’s latest season reaches its conclusion, here is a look at the top five clubs that have used the most players in the league (as of 13 May 2023):
Wolves – 31
Wolves have used 31 different players during the 2022-23 campaign. They are one of the Premier League teams that have struggled with injuries to players like Jose Sa, Raul Jimenez, Chiquinho, etc. Interestingly, Wolves also made several signings for the 2022-23 season such as Craig Dawson, Diego Costa, Mario Lemina and more.
However, the drawback of using so many players is a lack of cohesion and chemistry in the squad. Due to this obstacle, the Wolves have struggled to get out of the bottom half of the league table all season.
Bournemouth – 31
Bournemouth has also used 31 players across the 2022-23 campaign of the Premier League. They are one of the teams that linger in the bottom half of the table, often flirting with the idea of dropping into the relegation zone.
The Cherries brought in players like Neto, Marco Senesi, Dango Ouattara, Ryan Fredericks and more in order to salvage survival in the Premier League. With 39 points in 36 matches, Bournemouth are in a safe position and will likely play in the English top division next season.
