West Ham eye 20-year-old Liverpool target who Pep Guardiola says is ‘unbelievable’

West Ham are reportedly weighing up a move to sign Bristol City wonderkid Alex Scott, with Liverpool also interested in the Championship talent.

According to the Evening Standard, the Irons are keen to move for the 19-year-old midfielder as Premier League interest continues to mount for Scott, with the youngster widely considered to be one of the best prospects coming through in England.

Lauded as ‘unbelievable’ by Pep Guardiola, Liverpool are one of the many sides keeping tabs on Scott, yet it’s West Ham who now look primed to make an opening offer for the teenager, who has been compared to the likes of Jack Grealish.

Born on the island of Gurnsey, Scott is expected to become the latest Championship talent to make the leap to the Premier League this summer, though it now looks likely that a move to east London will be on the cards for the versatile midfielder rather than a switch up north to Anfield.

Indeed, Liverpool are obviously fans of Scott based on their recent links to the teenager. However, West Ham could be a more ideal move for the England youth international given how successful David Moyes has been at signing players from the second-tier and turning them into Premier League superstars, such as Jarrod Bowen.

Scott is firmly on the path to becoming one of the most exciting players in all of England, yet for Liverpool, passing up on the teenager’s signature might not be a total disaster given what the Reds are looking to do in the market this summer.

Moreover, West Ham is a more suitable club for Scott, with the Irons better-positioned to give minutes to the 19-year-old and to develop his talents into something incredible, with the player himself also likely to favour a move to London rather than Merseyside.
